TRAILER PROBLEMS strands us at Fitzroy- Week 819th Aug 2008
An adventurous week.
We left windy Cape Leveque and started our journey eastwards. At Fitzroy Crossing the trailer tailgate seized and the bottom hinge snapped out preventing us from going any further.(see photos week 8). Craig found a great welder ‘Robbie’ and spent a day removing the tailgate and replacing the hinge. A great day on the tools while Vanessa and boys discovered all the highlights of Fitzroy Crossing.
Then headed to Purnululu National Park (the Bungle Bungles) where we were amazed at the most unbelievable landforms of this World Heritage area. Visited Cathedral gorge, Echidna Chasm, lookouts and more lookouts.
We are now heading for Cooktown over the next 7 days to explore to Barrier Reef and make our way down the coast towards home in 6 weeks time.
Thanks again for the blog messages – we love them.
