Ninth Week of 14

Barn Hill and Cape Leveque Week 718th Aug 2008

Hi everybody

As we drove into Broome and touristville we discovered that all caravan parks were fully booked, only to be saved by a phone call from our mate Al reminding us of the Bird Observatory. We got the last site. This place was excellent, right on Roebuck bay 30km south of Broome. Joshua loved the birds. We then took of to Barn Hill and had ocean views for three days, beautiful beaches and sunsets (see week 7 pictures) and played lawn bowls against another family - and just to top it off whales breaching out to sea.

We have just returned to Broome after 4 days in Cape Leveque - this place was beautiful but the wind was horrendous. Still good times, fantastic snorkelling and met some great new friends. We watched the sunset each night with a drink, spotting whales with other travellers. We also were most fortunate to be given a huge piece of Mackerel which was sliced into the thickest steaks and onto the Barbie.

We are now half way through our trip and start the journey back to the east coast via Cooktown.

Stay tuned for more stories and pictures and please keep sending your messages, we love them.
